Ours took place on Thursday night in Manchester city centre and great fun and frivolity was had by all, washed down with copious amounts of free booze. But why oh why do people think downing shots is a good idea? And why oh why do I ALWAYS end up getting involved even though I say I’ll “never do it again”….?
Anyway, it’s seems that this year, I appear to find myself ‘the subject for gossip’ at this year’s party – no, I didn’t do anything foolish, but you know how people add 2 and 2 together and get 5…? I’ll spare the details haha!
Just as well that I’m not back in work now til the new year, so I hope people will have forgotten everything by then!
Travels
Righto, I’m off to Hong Kong to spend Christmas with the family, which is always a special treat for me.
In the past, I would have gleefully noted that I could go shopping and fill the case with goodies before I returned home (and I’m sure this is what my sisters will be suggesting that I do!).
But as with my trip to Hong Kong in the summer, I shall again be resisting the lure of buying for the sake of buying so I’ll be bringing home a pretty much empty suitcase apart from the usual presents for friends and colleagues.
I’m really looking forward to some good quality time with my folks. Good job I’ve been hitting the gym hard these past few months so I can over-indulge a little haha!
I’m unlikely to have much internet access but will be back in time to make a couple of end of year wrap up posts.
So on that note…..
to those who celebrate it, HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!
Hi weenie, that Christmas party sounds great – but you really don't need to spare us the details, in fact we all know details are very important to us PF bloggers 🙂
Hope you have an absolutely wonderful time with your family and a very merry Christmas to you too.
Have fun in Hong Kong, I'd love to go there one day. 🙂
Happy Christmas Weenie. Have a great trip to HK and cherish the time with your family and friends!
Hi Weenie,
I'm with you on the office parties. I love them!
I had mine last week, and I ripped the stitching on my suit trousers on the first dance of the night. Luckily, I was wearing a fancy dress cape, which kept my secret all night! 🙂
You must be so excited about seeing your family. Have a fantastic trip, Christmas and New Year!
All the best
Huw
Weenie,
Really had a great laugh with this post. Can't wait to experience my first office Christmas party this year because of it!
Have fun in Hong Kong and enjoy your time with the family.
Happy holidays,
NMW
Thanks all for the best wishes, I had a fabulous Christmas with the family. I hope you all had a great one too!
@Huw – funny about your wardrobe malfunction and why does it not surprise me that you had a cape to hide it lol!
@Cerridwen – details are hazy now, although I've yet to look at the photos that I took that night. Two words – 'married man' are just quite enough detail lol and no, I didn't!
@NMW – I hope you enjoyed your first party – they can be real eyeopeners, especially when you see some colleague letting their hair down for the first time!
Ha ha, love the Xmas parties as well!
I ended up staying out so late I went straight into the office on the Friday morning.. that was a long day!!!
Bit late but merry xmas, and enjoy some more shots tonight (or maybe not!) seeing in the new year.
TFS
Gone are the days when I could stay up all night and go into work the next day – I would just get sent home as I'd be useless!
Hope you had a great Christmas – It'll be a quiet one for me tonight, still jet-lagged so unlikely to be able to stay up late!
