January 2026 Savings, plus other updates

Halfway through Feb already, so am running very late with this one!

Been rather distracted recently – work continues to ramp up and (maybe related or unrelated) my eczema has flared up so I’ve been itching miserably and uncomfortably and not feeling quite like usual myself.

But anyway, how did I get on in the first month of the year?

I saved 24.1% of my net salary.  The above includes £26.51 from Prolific surveys and £38.16 from TopCashback.

Shares and Investment Trusts

No changes to my dividend income portfolio, I just topped up existing holdings.

Current share/IT portfolio can be found here.

Future Fund

Unnervingly, things continue to spiral upwards. At the end of the month, my FF ended up at ÂŁ375,605.79. Look at that straight line progression – just seems unnatural and too good to be true…!

New capital is going into money market funds – perhaps I may need to look at de-risking some more…

Dividends and Other Income

A great month for dividends:

I received ÂŁ728.76, of which ÂŁ429.16 was from my ISAs, the rest from my SIPPs. All dividends were reinvested.

Might as well start up another comparison graph:

Goals Update

A decent start on my goals I think:

Two books off my bookshelf already!

CNY

It’s Chinese New Year next week, the year of the Horse – I will be celebrating with the family with lots of food this weekend.

If I were to believe in Chinese horoscopes, then apparently, if I can keep up with the chaotic energy of this Fire Horse year, there is good potential for financial growth for me. Yay for my Future Fund!

For those who celebrate, happy CNY! Kung Hei Fat Choi!
